Jaydeep Chakrabarty is currently serving as the Director of AI in Tech at Piramal Capital & Housing Finance Limited, based in Bengaluru, Karnataka. With an extensive 18-year career spanning diverse roles—including Fullstack Developer, Infrastructure Developer, Experience and Visual Designer, Project Manager, Quality Analyst, Security Specialist, and Data Scientist—Jaydeep brings a comprehensive technological perspective to his leadership role.

Before joining Piramal Finance, Jaydeep was the Head of Generative AI Engagements and R&D and Head of Communities at Thoughtworks India. At Thoughtworks, he founded and led the generative AI group “GPT Wizards,” driving research, development, and client partnerships across India, the Middle East, and globally. His strategic initiatives significantly contributed to revenue growth by successfully implementing generative AI solutions.

An avid open-source enthusiast, Jaydeep has contributed to notable projects including Talisman, OpenStack, Report-mine, Taiko, and various EEG studies. He regularly shares his insights through prestigious publications such as EFY (Electronics For You), Opensource4You, and The Hindu’s tech column “Text and Context – Toolbox”. With more than 25 years of experience across global product organizations, he has led engineering teams building award‑winning solutions in network security, cloud, and biometrics, and has driven innovation across multiple generations of enterprise technologies.

He has shaped technology strategy, guided intellectual property development, and mentored engineering teams across domains. His work spans leadership roles in systems management, enterprise Linux, and high‑performance computing, contributing to products and platforms used worldwide.

Srivathsa holds two Master’s degrees in Computer Science, a Senior Management diploma from the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta, and the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Programme from Cambridge Judge Business School—deepening his expertise at the intersection of technology, strategy, and leadership.

He actively contributes to the technology community through keynote talks, panel discussions, and mentorship. His interests include the business and economics of open source, emerging technology waves that influence business strategy, and building careers in open source. He has been an advisor to the Open Source India conference since 2010. As part of the NASSCOM IP Think Tank, he contributes to strengthening the intellectual property ecosystem within India.
